Hi, I’m Alison, a Gloucestershire newborn and baby photographer with over a decade of experience photographing babies and children. I specialise in natural, relaxed images taken at home or outdoors. I work with families across Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire and Somerset, capturing those early days with a mix of honest, candid moments and timeless portraits.

Welcoming a new baby is a life-changing experience. The early weeks fly by in a blur of little details and big emotions – and that’s exactly why they deserve to be remembered. My sessions are calm, unhurried, and focused on creating images that truly reflect this special chapter in your family’s story.

  • "We are so pleased with our newborn pictures, they are absolutely gorgeous! Alison was fantastic and made us feel totally at ease. Would 100% recommend her, thank you!”

One Photo Session, a Lifetime of Smiles!

Your newborn or baby session happens right in the comfort of home, so you can forget the “just‑in‑case” bag and simply enjoy the moment. In familiar surroundings, interactions unfold naturally, giving me the chance to capture genuine connection and tender details.

Here’s all you need to do: book a spot during your final months of pregnancy, and I’ll pencil in your due date. Once your little one arrives, we’ll pick a convenient time – ideally within the first couple of weeks – to preserve those fleeting, magical first weeks forever!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most common questions I receive. Take a look, and feel free to contact me if you have any others!

    • What areas do you cover?

I cover Bristol, Bath, Gloucestershire and North Somerset. All travel within a 30-mile radius of Portishead (my home) is included. Outside of this, there is a supplementary fee of 45p per mile. I can travel further so please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you’re not in the areas above.

    • Why should I book a newborn photoshoot during the first two weeks?

During the first two weeks, newborns are typically very sleepy, allowing us to capture those serene, curled-up poses that reflect their time in the womb. Their delicate features—tiny fingers, toes, and eyelashes—are also at their most defined during this period, making it the perfect time to preserve these precious details. Babies tend to be more settled and easier to photograph in those early days, which helps create natural, relaxed, and timeless images.

    • Do you have a studio?

I work entirely on location and bring the session to you! Whether it’s in the comfort of your home or another favorite spot, I create beautiful, natural images in a setting that feels most personal to you.

    • How much will it cost?

The cost depends on the package you choose! To secure your booking, a deposit of £100 is required at the time of booking. I am currently offering three newborn and baby photo packages.

    • How do I book?

Booking is easy! Just get in touch via email or my contact form on my website. We’ll discuss details, choose a date, and I’ll guide you through the next steps to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.

    • Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes! You can purchase photography gift vouchers available as a physical voucher or e-voucher. Please see gift vouchers for details.

    • What if my child is ill?

I am happy to reschedule your photoshoot to another date at no extra cost. Please try to give me as much notice as possible.

    • Will the photos be in colour or black and white?

You’ll receive a mix of both color and black-and-white photos, carefully chosen to suit each image and bring out its best qualities.

A Newborn Photoshoot at Home – One Week Old

There’s something so special about photographing a newborn in those first few days of life. Everything still feels brand new – not just for the baby, but for the parents too. I was recently invited to photograph a lovely family who had just welcomed their baby girl into the world. She was just one week old on the day of the shoot.

We spent most of the morning in the nursery, which had beautiful soft light pouring through the window – perfect for capturing those quiet, intimate moments. The room was calm and cosy, and it felt like exactly the right space for documenting this early chapter.

If you’re expecting a baby and would love to capture those early days in a natural, heartfelt way, I’d love to hear from you. I offer newborn photo sessions across Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Gloucestershire– all in the comfort of your own home!
