BATH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
I'M ALISON, A BATH WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
Most couples tell me the same thing when they get in touch: they want to enjoy their wedding day without spending half of it posing for photos. I completely understand that. Your day should feel like yours, not like a photoshoot with a wedding happening around it.
I photograph the real moments - the laughter during the speeches, the look on your partner's face when they first see you, the people you love enjoying themselves. The big, obvious moments and the smaller ones in between that you might not even notice at the time but will be so glad to have afterwards.
I'll pinch you for a few portraits at some point during the day, but it's relaxed, it's quick, and most couples say it was actually a welcome breather.
What you end up with is an honest record of your wedding day - how it looked, how it felt, and all the moments that made it yours.
“Alison photographed our wedding and we are both speechless at the beautiful photos she’s given us, they are absolutely everything we wanted and more. I cannot thank her enough for everything she has done, it was so much fun being photographed by her and it just means the world to us both! We cannot wait to share with our family and friends, just in absolute awe! Thank you so much!”

Relaxed, natural and documentary. I photograph your day as it happens rather than directing it, capturing the real moments, the emotion, and the atmosphere. Alongside that, I take a small number of simple, natural portraits of the two of you. The result is an honest record of your wedding day, the way it actually looked and felt.
-
Yes. I'm based near Bristol and photograph weddings across Bristol, Bath, Somerset and Gloucestershire. If your venue is further afield, just let me know and we can talk it through.
-
No, and this is the thing most couples are relieved to hear. I'll pinch you for a few portraits at some point during the day, but it's relaxed and quick (usually fifteen to twenty minutes). The rest of the day, I’m in the background!
-
I can, yes. If you'd like family or group shots, we'll agree a list beforehand and I'll work through them as quickly and efficiently as I can (usually in about fifteen to twenty minutes). If you'd rather skip formal groups, that's completely fine too. I'll capture natural photos of your guests throughout the day.
-
That depends on what you'd like, and we'll talk it through when you book. Some couples want coverage from getting ready right through to the dancing, while others want the ceremony and a few hours of the celebrations. There's no right answer, it's about what matters most to you.
-
Yes. About a month before your wedding, I'll meet with you to talk everything through - the timings, the plan, and what matters most to you. It means that by the time your wedding day arrives, I understand your day well enough to work quietly in the background.
-
Your gallery will be ready within a few weeks of your wedding, depending on the time of year and the length of your coverage. I'll always give you a clear idea of timings when you book.
-
Travel to weddings in and around Bristol and Bath is included. For venues further afield, I may add a small travel fee, but I'll always let you know upfront so there are no surprises.
-
As a rough guide, I deliver around 50 edited photos per hour of coverage. It's never an exact science, there are always quieter stretches like travelling between venues or during the meal, when nobody really wants a camera on them. Across a full day you'll receive a generous gallery of several hundred images. Every photo is individually edited before it reaches you.
-
Yes. Once you've seen your gallery and chosen your favourite images, there are album and print options if you'd like something beautiful to hold onto beyond the digital files.
-
I carry backup equipment to every wedding (a second camera, plus spare cards and batteries), and I'm fully insured. In the very rare event that something serious prevented me from attending, I'd do everything I possibly could to arrange a trusted photographer to step in.

Send me a message with your date, venue and a bit about your plans. I'll get back to you with availability and the next steps.
GETTING MARRIED IN BATH
Bath is a beautiful place to get married. The city itself is a backdrop - the honey-coloured stone, the Georgian architecture, the way the light falls across the buildings in the afternoon. Whether your wedding is in the heart of the city or in the countryside just beyond it, there's a quality to this area that comes through in the photographs without you having to try.
I've photographed weddings at venues across Bath and the surrounding area, and each one has its own character. The Guildhall has that grand, civic beauty - high ceilings, tall windows, and a real sense of occasion. The Royal Crescent Hotel is stunning, with the sweep of the crescent behind you and the park stretching out beyond. Prior Park has those incredible grounds with views right across the city.
Just outside Bath, venues like Priston Mill and Wick Farm offer something completely different - countryside, open space, barns, and that relaxed, rural feel that suits couples who want something less formal. The contrast with the city is lovely, and the light in the Somerset countryside can be absolutely gorgeous.
What I love about photographing weddings in Bath is the variety. A ceremony in the centre of the city followed by a reception at a country house. A small wedding at the register office followed by drinks at a favourite restaurant. An afternoon in the Pump Room. Every couple does it differently, and the city gives you so many options.
If you're getting married somewhere I haven't mentioned, that's fine - I'm happy to photograph weddings at any venue in or around Bath.
