BATH NEWBORN & BABY PHOTOGRAPHER

Natural newborn photography at home

Hello! I’m Alison, a Bath newborn photographer specialising in relaxed, natural photoshoots in your own home

I photograph newborns and young babies in Bath and the surrounding areas including Larkhall, Bathampton, Bathford and Batheaston. Because sessions take place in your own home, everything feels calm and familiar for both you and your baby.

With over 10 years’ experience photographing newborns safely in their own homes, I create timeless photographs you’ll come back to long after these early days have passed.

Those early days are brief, often a blur, and quietly transformative, filled with small moments that don’t last long, but matter deeply.

Whether this is your first baby or your fourth, sessions are designed to be calm, flexible, and guided every step of the way.

Home newborn photoshoots are completely baby-led

Your baby sets the pace. Every session flows around feeding, cuddling, settling and pauses whenever they’re needed. There’s no schedule to keep and no pressure to “perform” — just time and space for your baby to feel safe and calm.

I work gently with natural light and simple guidance, allowing real moments to unfold in a familiar environment. We follow your baby’s rhythm from start to finish.

What happens during a newborn photoshoot?

Most of the session focuses on natural family moments - holding your baby, sitting together, standing by a window, simply being close. I’ll gently guide you into comfortable positions while keeping everything feeling relaxed.

I’ll also take a few simple portraits of your baby on their own, either on your bed or on my soft bean bag, always keeping them comfortable and supported.

When should we book a photoshoot?

You’re welcome to book at any stage during pregnancy so I can pencil in your due date.

Once your baby arrives, we’ll choose a day that feels right for you, often within the first couple of weeks, while they’re still tiny and sleepy. That said, there’s no rush. Older newborns and young babies bring just as much warmth, expression, and character to their photos.

About Alison newborn & baby photographer

I’ve been photographing babies for over a decade now, and I spend most of my time either at home with my own family or working with other families. I’m very used to the realities of family life — the unpredictability, the noise, the quiet moments, and everything in between.

I know how tender and tiring those early weeks can feel. My approach is gentle and unhurried — I’m happy to pause for feeds, cuddles, or simply a moment to breathe. You don’t need a perfectly tidy house or a “camera-ready” baby. We work with whatever the day brings.
