Welcome! I’m a family photographer based near Gloucerstershire, offering relaxed photoshoots all over South Gloucestershire, in areas such as Thornbury, Yate, Wootton-under-edge, Gloucester and Stroud. Places in open countryside, the woods, or in quiet green spaces work beautifully for family photoshoots with plenty of space to move and explore!
My photo sessions are child-led, giving children the freedom to be as they are - to wander, to play, to stay close when they need to.
Children drift away, then come back again. They explore, they pause, they stay close. And in between, I’m there to capture the small moments - a hand held, a glance, a burst of laughter. The kinds of things that pass almost as soon as they appear.
I’ll also bring you together for a few portraits, paying attention to the light and the surroundings, so they feel natural, well balanced, and easy.
These photographs become something you can come back to. The closeness, the rhythm of it, the way this stage of life was, before it shifted into the next.

What happens during a family photoshoot?
Some families prefer the comfort of home, while others enjoy heading to a local park or green space. Both work beautifully and help keep the photos relaxed and natural.
Your photoshoot lasts around an hour and is more like a family walk together. There’s no pressure to pose or perform. I allow plenty of time for children to explore and interact in their own way.
Where do you offer family photoshoots?
I regularly photograph families across Gloucestershire but mainly in the South Glos region: Berkeley, Thornbury, Wootton-under-Edge, Kingswood, Yate, Dursley, Chipping Sodbury, Winterbourne, Tormarton, Almondsbury, Frampton Cotterell, Tockington, Frampton on Severn, Tortworth, Gloucester & Stroud.
Family photoshoot locations in Gloucestershire
Across South Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas, there are so many beautiful spots for relaxed family photos. We might explore open countryside near Yate and Chipping Sodbury, wander through woodland paths around Thornbury, or find quiet green spaces close to Winterbourne and Bradley Stoke.
If you love the rolling hills and riversides near Stroud or Gloucester, those can make wonderful backdrops too.
And of course, it doesn’t have to be somewhere grand. Some of the loveliest sessions happen at home — in your garden, at a nearby park, or somewhere your children already feel happy and at ease. Familiar places often create the most natural, connected images.

I’m Ali. I’ve been photographing all kinds of families for over a decade now, working with parents who want natural relaxed photos of their family.
As a mum myself, I understand how quickly childhood goes by and how important it is to capture it without adding pressure or expectation.
I live in North Somerset and spend most of my time either at home with my own family or at work with other families, which means I’m very used to the realities of family life - the unpredictability, the noise, the quiet moments, and everything in between. That familiarity helps me to create photographs that feel honest, comfortable, and reflective of your family as you are right now.
