Leigh Woods is one of my favourite spots in Bristol for family sessions. Tall trees, peaceful trails, and plenty of space for little ones to explore. I was there with a family whose daughter, Madison, had just turned one. Full of curiosity, those first wobbly steps, and a fascination with tiny details around her.
There’s something so special about capturing milestones like learning to walk. Madison’s determination was all over her face, the concentration, the satisfaction when she managed a few steps on her own, it’s always a lovely thing to witness and photograph.
I don’t know what it is, but kids and leaves are always guaranteed to be a hit! She was completely mesmerised by their colours and textures, stopping every so often to pick one up and turn it over in her hands. Those small, natural moments are exactly what I love about lifestyle photography, less about posed smiles and more about real interactions.
