This was a newborn photoshoot at a couple's home in Bristol. Hannah wasn't sure about having a photoshoot at first, but she knew she wanted photos to remember these early weeks.
A newborn photoshoot at home isn't about posing or getting everything just right. Most of the time you're just looking after your baby, and I work around whatever's happening.
Being at home helps. There's nowhere to get to, and everything you need is already there. We stop for feeds when needed, and I keep any direction to a minimum. Most of the photos of Hannah are of her doing what she'd have been doing anyway - holding her baby, feeding, settling.
I always take a few photos of everyone together looking at the camera too, because most families want at least one. Those are over quickly, and then we go back to whatever the baby needs.
It's easy to leave yourself out of photos at this stage. But in a few years your baby won't notice whether you'd slept or what you were wearing. They'll just want to see you holding them.
