A bluebell family photoshoot at Ashton Court in Bristol
There's a short window each spring when the bluebells at Ashton Court are at their best, just a few weeks where the woodland floor turns this incredible carpet of blue.
I met this lovely family at Ashton Court and we took a short walk together into a little bluebell wood tucked away from the main paths. It's one of those spots that feels like a secret - quiet, sheltered, and perfect for family photos.
Their six-year-old was full of energy from the start, running between the trees and collecting sticks, completely in her element. And their littlest one, just finding her feet and learning to walk.
The bluebells gave us the most beautiful backdrop without needing to do anything complicated. Just soft colour everywhere, natural light filtering through the trees, and a family being themselves in the middle of it all.
Sessions like these are a reminder of why I love spring shoots so much. The light is gentle, the colours are stunning, and there's something about being outdoors together that brings out the most natural, relaxed side of a family.
