Family photoshoot in Cheddar, Somerset

Family photoshoots are such a lovely way to pause and hold onto moments that might otherwise slip by. I spent an afternoon in Cheddar with a family who were celebrating a birthday, and it was the perfect excuse to gather everyone together for photos!

For me, family photography is never just about the “stand and smile” portraits, though we do those too. It’s about the in-between moments: the laughter that bursts out of nowhere, the little glances between parents and children, the way siblings tease each other, or the quiet affection between grandparents and grandchildren. Those are the details that really tell the story of a family.

What made this photoshoot extra special was that it spanned three generations. The joy of little ones running around, the warmth of parents watching them, and the tenderness of grandparents being drawn into the fold. That’s a pretty wonderful thing to capture!

If you’d love your own family photoshoot, whether it’s just the kids, or grandparents included too, I’d love to help!
