An autumn afternoon at home – family photos in the garden

There’s something so special about photographing families at home. Everyone instantly feels relaxed, and the photos always capture genuine moments. This family of five had the most beautiful garden to explore, full of fruit trees, winding paths and the colours of autumn.

From the moment I arrived, the kids were eager to show me around, proudly pointing out the apple trees, the grapevines, and even a few late season strawberries. Before long they were running between the trees, and munching on the fruit they picked. It made for the loveliest, most natural photos, full of joy, movement and that golden autumn light.

Sessions like this are my favourite - unposed, personal, and full of the everyday joy that makes family life so memorable. You don’t need a special occasion or a perfect setting; just a space that feels like you.
