These early days with a new baby can feel like a blur, so my approach is always to slow things down. There’s no pressure to perform or follow a strict plan — we simply let the session unfold naturally, around feeding, cuddles, and whatever the baby needs in that moment.
Natural newborn photography
This session took place at the family’s home, which is often the most comfortable place for everyone — especially with a newborn. Being at home allows parents to relax, siblings to feel at ease, and babies to settle more quickly between feeds and cuddles. We kept things very simple: soft natural light, neutral tones, and gentle posing where needed, always led by the baby. Some newborns love being curled up and sleepy, while others are more alert and curious — both are perfect, and I work with whatever your baby gives me on the day.
Individual baby portraits
Alongside the family photographs, we also took some time to capture a few individual portraits of the baby. These quieter moments often become parents’ favourites — tiny hands and feet, and those subtle expressions that change so quickly in the first weeks.I don’t use complicated props or strong styling. The focus stays on your baby just as they are, creating timeless images that won’t date and that feel honest and personal.
Capturing family connections
Some of the most meaningful images from this session were the simple interactions between parents and baby — gentle holds, and those instinctive moments of closeness that are impossible to stage. These are the details I look for throughout every newborn shoot. They may feel ordinary at the time, but they’re exactly the moments families want to remember years later.
