A Summer Morning at Tithe Barn in bradford on avon

This summer I met a lovely mum and her one-year-old at Tithe Barn in Bradford on Avon for a photoshoot.

Tithe Barn has beautiful old stone walls, wide open grassy spaces, and little nooks of greenery that make such a lovely backdrop. On a summer’s day, with the light spilling across the grass, it all felt perfect. There’s something about the mix of history and nature in that spot that makes it peaceful, while also giving children the freedom to explore.

What made this shoot so special was that it fell right at the time of learning to walk. Each step was a mixture of determination and delight, and the laughter that followed every wobble was just as lovely to capture.

There was plenty of space to wander, explore, and in her case, practise! I always think photoshoots with little ones are less about the perfect pose and more about catching the milestones as they happen, and this session was exactly that.

What I love most is how it captures a stage that passes so quickly. Those first steps, the way a hand was always nearby, the joy of discovering what little legs could do… I know these will be memories worth holding onto.

If you’d like to capture your own family’s milestones, whether that’s first steps, first birthdays, or simply a moment in time together, I’d love to hear from you!
